What Is Build Like a Mom?
Build Like a Mom is a structured, five-day online sprint that teaches moms how to use AI practically -- not theoretically. It runs April 11 to 17, 2026. Each day takes thirty minutes. Each day delivers one real, immediately usable AI skill. No technical background is required. No prior AI experience is needed. No catching up before Day 1.
By Day 4 -- Hackathon Day -- every participant builds a functional AI tool from scratch. Not a draft. Not a concept. Something that runs and saves real time starting that same week.
Why This Sprint Exists
Most AI education is built for one type of person: someone with a four-hour deep work window, a tolerance for abstraction, and the patience to sit through theory before touching a single tool. Most moms have none of those things.
What moms do have is exactly what AI requires. The core skill of working with AI is not coding. It is the ability to describe a complex problem precisely, identify the outcome you need, and find the fastest path between the two. Moms do this constantly -- before breakfast, between meetings, in the fifteen minutes between school pickup and dinner. They have been doing the foundational AI skill their entire lives. Nobody built the education to match that reality.
Build Like a Mom was built around real constraints -- thirty minutes a day, practical problems, and results that show up the same week. Every skill taught in the sprint applies to real life immediately.
What Happens Each Day
Not the AI landscape, not the history, not the hype. Just what AI actually is, why it works, and how it is already inside tools most moms use every day. Every participant who shows up feeling behind should leave feeling like they just realized they were already ahead.
You identify one specific task in your week that AI can handle, learn to hand it off, and feel the shift that same day. There is a specific moment when a person realizes a task they have been doing manually for years can be done in thirty seconds. Day 2 is designed to create that moment.
Moms are problem solvers at a scale most people do not fully appreciate. Day 3 makes that connection explicit and gives participants the framework to turn what they already do naturally into a genuine AI superpower.
Participants make something real. A working AI tool tailored to a specific problem in their own life. Something that runs and saves real time starting that week. This is the centerpiece of the sprint.
The hardest part of any new practice is not learning it -- it is keeping it when real life tries to pull you back. Day 5 gives participants the structure, anchor habits, and practical next steps to keep going after the sprint ends.
Who Created Build Like a Mom?
Professor of entrepreneurship at San Francisco State University, advisory board member at the Nasdaq Entrepreneurial Center and Harvard Business Review, and founder of Build with AI. She has been building three brands on a 3 to 4 day work week using AI for two years.
Comes from tech, advises AI companies, and invests in founders as an angel investor. She sees the AI landscape from the inside and watched the education space repeatedly fail to build something that actually met people where they were.
How Is Build Like a Mom Different from Other AI Courses?
Most AI courses assume the learner has hours per session and patience for theory before application. That assumption excludes most moms.
Build Like a Mom is built around a different assumption entirely -- thirty minutes, a real problem, and zero tolerance for anything that does not produce a result that same day. Every session is thirty minutes. Every skill applies immediately.
