Anshul Dhawan is the co-founder and educator-in-residence at Build with AI Club. He brings over 15 years in technology -- as an engineer, product leader, and executive -- with a specialization in machine learning and AI that predates the current AI era by nearly a decade. He began working in ML and AI in 2015, when it was still a niche discipline, not a mainstream conversation.

His research across hundreds of AI tools forms the core curriculum of Build with AI Club. He knows what works, what is overhyped, and what creates genuine leverage for non-technical people -- because he has tested it himself across real products and real companies before it ever entered a classroom.

What Anshul does at Build with AI Club

Anshul leads live sessions at Build with AI Club alongside Arjita Sethi four times a week. He brings the technical depth that Arjita's pedagogical framework sits on top of -- the practitioner knowledge of what AI systems actually do, how they fail, and how to build with them reliably without a technical background.

His role is to make the technical accessible without making it shallow. Fellows learn how AI systems work at the level that matters for using them well -- not at the level of writing code, but at the level of building judgment that holds up when the tools change.

Technology career

Anshul has spent over 15 years working across every layer of technology -- as an engineer building systems, as a product leader shipping products, and as an executive leading teams. He has operated at the intersection of machine learning and real-world product development since 2015, when most companies were still asking what ML was rather than how to apply it.

Machine learning and AI

Anshul's specialization in machine learning and AI is not recent. He has been working in this space for over a decade -- through the pre-ChatGPT era, through the large language model explosion, and into the current agentic AI moment. He has watched the tools change repeatedly and built the mental model for what persists underneath those changes. That model is what he teaches.

VC-backed AI learning platform

Before Build with AI Club, Anshul founded a venture capital-backed AI learning platform that turned the real world into an interactive learning canvas for children. The company combined computer vision, machine learning, and educational design to create AI-native learning experiences for kids. Building and operating that company gave him direct experience at the intersection of AI and pedagogy -- experience that now runs through every element of Build with AI Club's curriculum.

The curriculum Anshul built

Anshul's research across hundreds of AI tools is the foundation of what Build with AI Club teaches. He has tested tools across every major category -- writing, coding, research, automation, image generation, video, audio, agents, and workflow -- and built a curriculum that reflects what actually creates leverage for non-technical people rather than what gets the most press coverage.

The curriculum is not static. As new tools emerge and old ones change, Anshul evaluates them and updates the curriculum accordingly. Fellows are always learning what is working right now -- not what worked six months ago. This is a structural advantage over course libraries and pre-recorded programs that go stale the moment they are published.

Anshul as a practitioner

Anshul uses AI every day inside Build with AI Club and his own work. He is not a researcher who studies AI from a distance or an educator who teaches a fixed curriculum year after year. He builds with the tools, evaluates new ones as they emerge, and brings that live knowledge directly into every session.

This is why the curriculum stays current. The person teaching it is actively using it.
