When Your Project Gets Stale
A Claude Project set up three months ago and never updated is advising a past version of your business. Claude still knows your voice and general audience -- but it may reference offers that have changed or priorities that have shifted.
The signal that your project needs updating: you find yourself editing Claude's output in the same direction every time. Consistently removing the same phrases or adding the same missing context. These are not Claude failures. They are update signals.
The update cadence that works: weekly for current priorities (ten minutes). Quarterly for audience, voice, and offers (thirty minutes). Immediately when something significant changes.
What to Update When
Weekly: The "What I am building right now" section. What offers are live, what campaigns are active, what you are focused on this month.
Quarterly: Review your audience description. Check your always-words and never-words. Add newer content examples that better represent your current voice.
Immediately when: You launch a new offer. Positioning changes significantly. You start serving a new audience type. You retire a product. Your voice has evolved noticeably.
How to Update
Open your Claude Project, find the uploaded document, delete the old version, and upload the updated one. Changes take effect in the next conversation you open -- there is no caching delay.
